REVIEW for Glorious One Pot Meals

Thank you so much to Jessica at Random House for sending me this "food savior book". It is a wonderful book!

TITLE: Glorious One Pot Meals

AUTHOR: Elizabeth Yarnell

GENRE: Food

RATING: 5 +++++ Stars

I am not a big cook and if it takes longer than 20 minutes from grocery store to the oven, I am no longer interested in making the dish - I also hate, hate washing lots of dishes.

This book is the perfect solution for someone like me. I have had this book for a few weeks now and I managed to make most of the vegetarian recipes and let me tell you - this is a miracle book.

The ingredients are easy to find - and the preparation time is minimal and ALL of it can be done in one pot - period. The recipes are excellent and easy to make - they taste great.

I also appreciated the breakdown of the calories and fat content for each (watch out for some of the fat contents - they can be a little high). The one thing that was missing were the pictures of the meals. I would have liked to see what the finished product looked like. Nonetheless, this is a wonderful, wonderful book.

One suggestion, I did try making these recipes in a regular glass casserole and the recipes actually do taste much better in a dutch oven. The dutch oven is way more expensive, but is worth it You will send up getting all your money back on the savings you will be making eating in instead of out.

That looks like just the cookbook for my nephew and son.

You are just like me... I hate cooking a bunch of things and using a bunch of pots and pans. Thankfully, my husband doesn't mind cooking. Lately I haven't been buying many cookbooks because there are so many good recipes online, but with such a high recommendation maybe I will keep my eyes open.

YEA!!!!!
I do not like cooking. I do love my crockpot. I bet some of these would be good for a crockpot. I am going to ask for this book for my birthday!
Thanks for the idea.
Keep 'em comin.

Tina - I'm thrilled to hear you like the cookbook and this unique one-pot cooking method. Don't forget that EVERY Glorious One-Pot Meal RECIPE CAN BE VEGETARIAN! With this method, any protein can be exchanged for any protein, making it super easy to remove the meat from a recipe and trade it for tofu, seitan, beans, or whatever you want.

Thanks for the review and Happy cooking!

This looks like my kind of book! I like to cook - but on week nights, when time is tight, this cookbook would be handy...adding to my wish list!

I’m all for easy and simple! Just wondering does it touch on crockpots (slow cockers)?

Hi Sue: No, unfortunately, the book does not cover any crock pot recipes.

That looks like a good cookbook for in the camper :). I definatley do agree with you though that it is more fun to see a picture of the finished food before you make it!
