I seem to naturally be gravitating to the country side more and more and when a friend mentioned that he has a friend who recently bought a house down in the country with tons and tons of land - along with a house that he is renovating, it felt like the perfect time to go out and experience some "country living".
The place is BEAUTIFUL. We walked the length of the land and it took us 1 hour! It is sooo quiet and beautiful out there - I would definitely move there in a second - it is exactly what you need if you want to be able to sit down and smell the roses!! or in my case, sit down outside in the beautiful sunshine reading my book - while the guys do weird things with drills, axes and wall sockets.
The best part!!! I SAW DEER in the backyard, just looking at us while they casually eat and roam around - they were BEAUTIFUL! BEAUTIFUL! Those little buggers are smart as heck let me tell you - they outsmarted me as I kept trying to figure out where they were hiding.
I also saw ducks - actually a loon and a duck - they were drinking out of the backyard pond - sooooooo cool!!!
I am a city girl - so I don't get to see DEER too often - I could really get use to living in the country - maybe I am really a country girl at heart!!!!
I took some cool pictures (by the way, there is a restaurant called Herb's - which is a truck stop that serves some excellent, excellent food - including a huge, huge piece of chocolate cake - this thing was not to be believed!

Of course, I also did my pilgramage to my my favorite place on earth - The Ruins! the most soothing place I have ever visited.
I had a great, great time!

When we lived in Auburn, there were deer all over the place - they would eat the flowers in our yard. There's a saying there that the first thousand deer you see are cute. I'm glad you enjoyed your foray into the country.
Wow, what a beautiful spot! Where are those ruins? I really want to visit them!
Tina, I want to know too! Where are these ruins? Really nice post!
