REVIEW for What Stays in Vegas
Thank you to the author for sending me a copy of her book.
TITLE: What Stays in Vegas
AUTHOR: Beth Labonte
GENRE: Chick Lit
RATING:
I think the thing I loved most about this book was the wit and sarcasm the author uses to tackle a difficult subject - that of a possible infidelity. Of course, that is but one of the major plot points here, but it goes a long way in explaining why i enjoyed this book so much. The author manages to remove the major drama of certain situations, all the while writing a storyline that was believable and very, very enjoyable.
Our main character Tessa is not very happy and wants to discover who she really is. She is given the opportunity and in the process discovers more about herself than she might like - the good and the bad.
I like that this novel is about growing and discovering who you are. Its about having to make the tough choices and realizing that life is not always linear.
The writing is extremely engaging and I found myself cheering for Tessa. Its hard to live a life that you can be proud of all the time - especially when you have to weight your desire with what is right, but the author balances the two and gives us a great read.
