REVIEW for Hollywood Strip
TITLE: Hollywood Strip
AUTHOR: Shamron Moore
GENRE: Chick Lit/Contemporary
RATING:
I love chick lit and, unfortunately, much of the genre doesn't even exist anymore and if it does, it has become some weird cross between contemporary fiction and chick lit (in my opinion).
However, this book is fun, fun, fun and totally a chick lit read. How do I know? It was entertaining, scandalous, a tad over the top and a quick beach read - all the ingredients for a perfect chick lit summmer read.
Callie is trying to make it in Hollywood and what ensues is a fun romp - tell all about what it can be like to be in La La Land trying to become a star. Callie was an interesting character because at times, I thought she was very smart, down to earth and logical and then she would make a decision that would completely turn her into some (almost) typicl Hollywood starlet willing to do anything to get famous.
The strength of this book is that the author understands that her main character should not be some kind of goodie goodie but should also not be some Hollywood seeker, which we see in so many stories about Hollywood.
The writing was great and I found myself turning the pages gleefully.
Loved this one.
