Thank you to the wonderful people at AVON in the UK for sending me this book.
TITLE: LeftOvers
AUTHOR: Stella Newman
RATING:
I read this author's previous book and loved it and I am thrilled to be able to review Leftovers.
The word that comes to mind to best describe this book is "sensitive". This book is partly chick lit, but also partly the chick lit part that comes AFTER Bridget ends up being alone and having to deal with her feelings about an ex.
The author takes an honest look at what it really is to be in your 30's and finding yourself single - the good, the bad and the ugly. Susie is written as a very "real" person who is trying to deal with same crappy stuff that is happening to her, while trying to figure out what the hell her future should be like.
Not everything is rosy and perfect and more importantly, the author strives to portray Susie's life as realistic with some tough challenges - mainly the one where society dictates that if you are not married with 2.2 kids when you are in your 30's that you are not normal.
Written with humor and a loving hand, I loved "Leftovers".
