Mary Burton is well-known for her historical romances so I was a tad skeptical when I picked up this one!

I need not have worried. The storyline involves our two main characters - Lindsey O'Neil and Zach Kier. They are married, but there has been a huge betrayal on Zach's part - too much booze and too many one night stands - so Lindsey asks for a divorce. However, fate is intervening. Lindsey is being stalked and Zach, who is a police officer and is now desperate for redemption in his wive's eyes insists on protecting her. He still loves her and he wants desperately to save her life.

Thrown together, Lindsey and Zach realize that still love each other - but they have to find the stalker before he finds them.The storyline takes alot of twists and turns and, at times, does stretch reality just a tad, but the plot is so engrossing that this is only a minor complaint.I like that both Lindsey and Zach are not perfect - each has their own flawed personalities, but somehow Burton makes it all work together and brings us a very entertaining story.
