Nothing Like You is actually completely different from what I thought it would be and that is quite all right with me. I am a big fan of YA novels and a novel like this one is one of the reasons why.

Nothing Like You is written with a deep sadness, you can feel it envelop the storyline and, of course, the main character immediately. As we meet Holly she is about to "givr it away " and is not even sure why - is it because she actually likes the guy? Or is it something that goes much deeper and will only be revealed to us along the way.

That is kind of how this novel is, slowly, bit by bit, giving us just one more little piece of the puzzle - making us think and feel along the way. As we progress along the storyline we discover a lot more about the main character and the people around her and we begin to understand that maybe its not as easy as "yeah, I want to have sex with somebody else's guy" - especially when, as it turns out, that "somebody else" ends up being a friend.

Full of insight and thankfully never preachy, this YA novel is an excellently deep read
